The residents of Calhoun County are served by three hospitals: Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center (RMC) and Stringfellow Memorial Hospital in Anniston, and RMC-Jacksonville.

Regional Medical Center

Regional Medical Center, accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, is a not-for-profit full service medical center serving over 250,000 citizens in the region.

RMC has a 336-licensed bed capacity and over 185 physicians representing most major specialties. The medical center has over 1,400 full and part-time employees, making it one of Calhoun County’s largest employers. Medical services include an emergency department, cardiology services, surgical services imaging services, maternal and child care, mammography services, neurological services, laboratory services, cancer program, gastroenterology services, psychiatric services, wound healing center, brace and pedorthic equipment, occupational health, rehabilitative services, and long term care hospital. Stringfellow Memorial Hospital

Stringfellow Memorial Hospital is an acute care hospital that was established in 1938. It is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The hospital has a 125-bed capacity and a medical staff of approximately 170 physicians representing 30 medical specialties. Stringfellow offers 24-hour emergency care, general and specialized surgical services including laparoscopic and laser surgery, same-day outpatient surgery, a pain clinic, full-service rehabilitation department and diagnostic testing procedures including MRI and CT scanning. RMC-Jacksonville

Jacksonville Medical Center is an 89-bed capacity facility built in 1976. It underwent a $3.2 million renovation and expansion in 2004 which included a new emergency department. Hospital services include cardiopulmonary services, inpatient/outpatient surgery, women and children’s services, intensive care unit, laboratory services, emergency services, radiology services, senior care unit, and radiology services. www.jmchealth.com
