Calhoun County, Alabama — Bryant Machine Company, a family-owned machine shop founded in 1979, has announced a significant expansion to accommodate its rapid growth and increasing demand for its precision-engineered solutions. Over the past year, the business has achieved impressive growth, with sales up 250% and the workforce expanded by 150%, driving the need for a larger facility to support continued momentum.
The company’s $3.26 million investment includes the construction of a new 22,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility and the purchase of machining equipment. This expansion will also create 12 new jobs, further strengthening the company’s commitment to providing high-quality jobs to the community.
“Bryant Machine began as my grandfather Donald Bryant’s dream back in 1979 — a small family shop with big ambitions. We’ve carried that same spirit forward for more than four decades, growing alongside the Calhoun County community that has always supported us,” said Kirklin Childs, COO and Vice President of Bryant Machine Co. “Achieving AS9100D with ISO 9001:2015 certification and investing in this new facility are ways we’re ensuring that our family business continues to create opportunities and deliver excellence for years to come.”
Bryant Machine Company specializes in CNC turning, milling, assembly, and engineering services, delivering top-tier craftsmanship from intricate prototypes to large-scale production runs. The company’s offerings include advanced capabilities such as additive manufacturing, portable coordinate measuring machine (CMM) services, and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) solutions. These services deliver high-precision, efficient, and custom-engineered components that meet the most demanding industry standards.
The Calhoun County Economic Development Council (EDC) expressed excitement for the company’s expansion. Don Hopper, Executive Director of the EDC, said, “This milestone highlights Bryant Machine’s long-standing commitment to innovation, investment, and creation of high-quality jobs. Their success not only strengthens the roots here in Calhoun County but also highlights the important role family-owned businesses play in sustaining and growing our community’s economy.”
The new facility will enhance production capacity, streamline operations, and support the addition of new machines. This investment ensures Bryant Machine Company remains at the forefront of precision manufacturing, combining decades of expertise with next-generation technology.
